The failure of the off-taker of gas the Ghana National Gas Company Ltd (GNGCL) to utilize all the gas produced on Ghana’s leading oil fields, oil production on the Jubilee and TEN (Tweneboa, Enyinra Ntomme) fields has run into difficulties, operators, international oil firm Tullow Oil has said.
In a statement issued on Monday, the operators of the field Tullow Oil revised downwards its 2019 combined full-year production forecast for the two fields to 87,000 barrels of oil per day (87,000 bopd) from the previous projection of between 89,000 bopd and 93,000 bopd.
“The factors include significantly reduced off-take of gas by the Ghana National Gas Company which Tullow makes available at no cost, increased water cut on some wells, and lower facility uptime,” the statement said
It said mechanical issues on two of the wells at Enyenra had limited the production on the TEN field as well.
The average estimated production for 2019 is, however, higher than the 78,000 bopd net production recorded for 2018. Enditem
