The Brazilian has fallen out of favor under Marseille coach Michel and was last week omitted from the French club’s Europa League squad.
“He is a young player with undeniable quality,” Sao Paulo president Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva was quoted as saying by ESPN Brasil on Wednesday. “If he isn’t playing at his current club and has the chance to come here, he will be most welcome.”
Earlier, Michel told reporters in France that other clubs had shown interest in signing the 22-year-old.
“He is not in our squad for the Europa League because he is negotiating with Brazilian clubs, ” the former Spain midfielder said.
Silva joined Real Madrid in January last year but managed only a handful of first-team appearances before joining Marseille on loan in July.
The former Cruzeiro holding midfielder has played 26 matches for the Ligue 1 outfit, mostly as a substitute. Enditem
