The latest investigation involves seven suspects including senior intelligence officials and police members.

During the press conference, prosecutor Fatime Fetai presented details on the executors of “the inhumane actions while arresting Boskoski.”

According to the SPO, the prime suspect ordered Boskoski’s arrest because of suspicions he illegally financed his election campaign, a crime for which he is serving a five-year prison sentence.

According to Fetai, Boskoski suffered mental distresses, while his dignity and personality were directly diminished and he was discriminated because of his political views.

A motion to the Criminal Court Skopje 1 will be filed by the Special Prosecutor’s Office.

Boskoski was Macedonian interior minister during 2001 conflict that killed hundreds of people. He was charged with war crimes against ethnic Albanian civilians by the Hague Tribunal. After he spent four years in detention in Croatia and the Hague, in 2008 he was freed of the war crimes.

Boskoski return to Macedonia to start the United for Macedonia party, mounting a failed presidential campaign in 2009. After the 2011 general elections, he was arrested while for taking money in cash from a businessman who was illegally funding his campaign. Enditem
