Former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will submit their nomination forms to the Electoral Commission (EC) today, Monday, September 9, as they vie for the presidency in the upcoming general elections.
The forms will be submitted by the NDC’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, on behalf of John Mahama.
In a Facebook post, Mahama stated, “My nomination forms as Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Vice Presidential Candidate, will be formally submitted to the Electoral Commission on Monday at 2:00 pm.
The submission by our National Chairman represents a pivotal step in our campaign for change on December 7. We are all in this together, working with Ghanaians to RESET Ghana’s economy and ‘Build the Ghana we want together.'”
Dr. Bawumia will accompany his running mate, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s National Chairman and General Secretary, the Majority Leader in Parliament, and other party leaders.
After submitting his nomination, Dr Bawumia will address party supporters and the public at the NPP National Headquarters at 9:00 am, as NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong announced.
