John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), launched a scathing critique of the incumbent administration during the party’s campaign kickoff in Tamale on Saturday, July 27.

Mahama emphasized the need for change in Ghanaian leadership before the 2024 general elections, arguing that the country’s problems cannot be resolved by the same individuals who caused them.

“We cannot solve Ghana’s problems with the same people who caused them,” Mahama asserted, addressing supporters at the event. “The challenges we face require fresh perspectives and new hands to bring effective solutions.”

Mahama painted a stark picture of the current state of affairs, suggesting that the reality is bleaker than what the government acknowledges. He acknowledged that addressing these issues would demand significant effort and collaboration from all sectors of society.

“It will take hard work and the cooperation of the entire country,” Mahama admitted.

Promising transparency and honesty, Mahama assured Ghanaians of his commitment to truthfulness throughout his leadership.

“I will be truthful to you; I will never deceive you,” he pledged, aiming to differentiate himself from perceived falsehoods under the current administration.

Mahama’s remarks set the tone for the NDC’s campaign strategy, positioning himself as a candidate dedicated to addressing Ghana’s challenges with integrity and a fresh approach.
