BJET Sports Consult Limited, a leading multifaceted sports consultancy operating in Ghana on Tuesday launched the maiden edition of the Soccer Talent Hunt to help unearth talents all over the country.

The Soccer Talent Hunt, which was a Soccer Academy Television Reality Show is designed to help best talented footballers in the country both in rural and urban areas between the ages of 14 to 23 to nurture into professionals.

Speaking at the launch of the event, Mr. Neil-Armstrong Mortagbe, former Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak praised BJET Sports Consult Limited, saying it was a great initiative to help develop football in Ghana.

According to him, “In Africa there are too many talents better than the foreign players. but because they have not been discovered and those who were discovered were not properly managed to get to the highest of their talent”.

“My prayer is that the event we are launching today would discover talents that can be nurtured right from a very young age to also compete at the world level and not only the African level,” he said
Mr. Andy Sam, former Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Gold and special guest of honour for the event added that “There are people who are looking for opportunities and without initiatives like this they would never have come.”

He further urged all stakeholders to support the programme as it would help unearth more talents and go a long way to change the lives of others, who would help Ghana through football.

“These kids that would be scouted are very lucky, they would get money, exposure and would in future become household names even before their career starts and that really excites me a lot and I am so delighted to be part of this project sharing my experience,” he added.

Mr. Augustine Arhinful, former Black Stars player shared his delight for the opportunities given to the young players to stay relevant in societies.

“It’s an honour to be part of this, not everyone can use academics to become prominent people in the society. Some would have to use these talents that God has given us to be able to be relevant.”

He urged all those hoping to partake in the exercise to be disciplined and focused in order to achieve their goals as professional footballers.

According to the organisers, the first to third winners of the Soccer Talent Hunt would grab cash prizes and a trial abroad with all expenses fully paid whilst fourth to eight place players would also get some amount of money with trials expenses also fully paid.
