The following are the indices of major stock markets worldwide on Wednesday.

IN ASIA
The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 3,371.81 points, down 1.77 points, or 0.05 percent.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 13,680.59 points, up 11.18 points, or 0.08 percent.
The Hang Seng Index opened at 25,520.41 points, up 34.19 points, or 0.13 percent.
The S&P/ASX 200 index opened at 6,083.90 points, down 77.50 points, or 1.26 percent.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average opened at 23,260.00 points, down 36.77 points, or 0.16 percent.
The Straits Times Index opened at 2,548.28 points, down 10.75 points, or 0.42 percent.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index opened at 2,367.74 points, up 1.01 points, or 0.04 percent.

IN THE UNITED STATES
The S&P 500 Index closed at 3,443.62 points, up 12.34 points, or 0.36 percent.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 28,248.44 points, down 60.02 points, or 0.21 percent.
The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 11,466.47 points, up 86.75 points, or 0.76 percent.

IN EUROPE
The DAX Index closed at 13,061.62 points, down 4.92 points, or 0.04 percent.
The FTSE 100 Index closed at 6,037.01 points, down 67.72 points, or 1.11 percent.
The Paris CAC 40 closed at 5,008.27 points, up 0.38 points, or 0.01 percent.
