A 52-year-old man, Samuel Yaw Koranteng, has been detained by the Nsawam police after being found in possession of a biometric verification device (BVD) belonging to the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
Koranteng, who claims to reside in Tudu, Accra, was discovered with the device, identified by serial number VVD49976, on Friday, August 23, in Nsawam.
Local members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) played a crucial role in this incident, promptly facilitating his arrest and handing him over to the authorities for further investigation.
Mark Oliver Kevor, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, confirmed the arrest to Channel One News and has urged the Inspector General of Police, a key figure in ensuring justice, to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
