An aspiring Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Mr. Henry Ekow Manly-Spain, has called for truce in the party to ensure resounding victory in 2016 general elections.
He said engaging in smear campaign by people aspiring to hold executive positions in the party will not augur well for the development of the party as that will do an unrepairable damage to its existence.
He cited the recent happenings in the opposition New Patriotic Party should set as an example to the NDC.
Mr. Manly-Spain made this admonition in an interview with the media ahead of the party?s National Executives elections slated for March this year.
He explained that there is no way any political party can defeat the NDC in any election if there is unity in the party, and has therefore advised all aspiring executive candidates to bury their difference for the sake of the victory of the party come Dec. 2016.
?We need to work closely together as one people from the same political party in order to retain power come 2016 elections, ? he cautioned.
He said without unity and peaceful co-existence, the NDC cannot experience any meaningful development and thus deliver the ?Better Ghana Agenda? as promised by the President.
To this end, he has urge all aspiring candidates not to sit on the fence because of petty squabbles, but put their shoulders to the wheel to ensure that the party?s delivers on its Better Ghana Agenda Promise to the people.
