Mark Your Calendars: Power and Energy Ghana Expo Coming This November

Global and regional experts in the energy and electrical sector will meet in Accra in November this year to discuss solutions to challenges in the sector.

As part of the 3rd edition of the Power and Energy Ghana Expo, the exhibition and conference, scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre from November 6 to November 8, 2024, will discuss measures to scale-up renewable energy as well as address demand and supply issues in the energy sector.

During a media launch of the Expo in Accra on Wednesday, organisers of the event said more than 100 exhibitors from India, China, Turkey, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, France, Spain, UK, Ghana and other countries as well as more than 4000 visitors from Ghana and West Africa were expected to participate in the event.

The expected participants comprised manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, dealers and distributors of the power electrical energy equipment, gadgets and products.

Mr Thomas James, Project Director, Power and Energy Ghana Expo, said the discussions and engagements would focus on helping Ghana to build a robust energy sector whiles promoting investments in the industry.

He encouraged sector players to take advantage of the platform and explore local and international partnership opportunities towards building a resilient and cost-efficient energy sector.

“We will provide Ghanaian and West African companies with the opportunity to connect with the manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting in the event, arrange one to one with prefixed meetings for potential collaboration, partnership distribution arrangement, joint venture and investment tie ups.” Mr James said.

Maame Afia Saa-Bour Boakye, Administrative Secretary, Energy Chamber of Ghana, said public education on renewable energy was not enough and appealed to the organisers to use the occasion to champion renewable energy.

Dr Joseph Obeng, President, Ghana Union of Traders Association, appealed to the Energy Commission to participate in the event and sensitise the public on its energy efficiency programmes and regulations to help achieve energy efficiency.
