NEW DELHI — At least one person was killed and several others injured in a railway mishap in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a senior police official said on Monday.
“The mishap happened when eight coaches of an express train derailed in the state’s Kaushambi district. While one person died on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of some are said to be serious,” he said on condition of anonymity.
