The Citi FM MOGO Dance Party came off on Friday night with awesome performances by Nana Kwame Ampadu and the African Brothers Band, Okyeame Kwame, Akwaboah and the Ramblers.
The legendary Nana Ampadu started off the night with nostalgic tunes and had patrons on their feet throughout his performance. He was followed by Akwaboah, who took the audience through three generations of his family?s music.
Okyeame Kwame then took over and pushed the excitement a notch higher with his exceptional stagecraft. With his awesome mix of highlife, hiplife, some reggae and pure poetic rap, he had the audience jumping and screaming in excitement throughout his performance.
The Ramblers Dance Band ended the night with classic highlife tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Some of the country?s known public figures have and celebrities took to the dance floor at the 2014 MOGO Dance Party on Friday at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. Notable amongst them were , Ptresidential Advisor, Dr. Nii Moi Thompson, former Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Professor Badu-Akosah, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea and actor Ecow Smith Asante.
Last Friday?s MOGO Dance Party is a prelude to the main Music of Ghana Origin (MOGO) Festival which is scheduled to come off in the first quarter of 2015.
The Citi FM MOGO Dance Party was sponsored by the National Lotteries Authority and Engen Ghana Limited and powered by 97.3 Citi FM and supported Alisa Hotel.
