German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed regret on Friday over the fact that the Taliban (banned as a terrorist organization in Russia) seized power in Afghanistan.

“This is a frustrating issue,” Merkel said at a press conference following negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
