?Guided by that maxim, wherever they say and do will either draw people in or push them away, particularly those aligned. It is very important to be polite in one?s arguments which could draw even some of our opponents who see reason in their logic. Sometimes the tone of people on radio is strong that it leaves much to be desired.

?Advising them, the General Secretary said it takes selflessness, discipline and great sacrifice to contribute one?s quota to the development and advancement of the party in times like these.

?Mr. Agyepong was addressing a section of the party activists recently in a familiarization interaction since assuming the high office of the party at the Headquarters in Accra. ?Only the committed and determined are those that will stand the test of time in party activities in times like these and urged all to redouble their efforts for the growth of the party and democracy.

He asked them to genuinely work hard to bring the party out of the political wilderness in the coming general elections to power since many Ghanaians were looking forward to the NPP to deliver them. Mr. Agyepong?s explained that in recent past, the kind of language used by party activists leaves much to be desired and so it was necessary that he met them to interact and chart a new path of doing party activities.

Touching on the recent internal elections, he cautioned that, that was a necessary aspect of internal democracy; an event he recounted has happened since 1992 and will continue to happen after here. And therefore once Nana Addo-Danquah Akufo Addo was elected as the flag-bearer of the party the competition was over and all must bury the past and forged a unified front. Telling them how the far the party has evolved, the veteran politician expressed disquiet about a certain ?hangover of sort? within their rank and file? and it was time to move forward. Adding that the party comes first. He bemoaned that although those elections were internal the conduct of many members showed a certain lack of indiscipline for authority and hierarchy. He explained that he maintains an open door policy and that any party member that was in doubt of any issue should take initiative to seek from him the position of the party.

The General informed them that soon the party will revive polling station meetings and registrations since that was the root of party activitism and that their request for party cards will be addressed there and no longer at the Headquarters as before.? By so doing polling stations executives will have to move from house to house to take data of all members in the vicinity to facilitate meetings and education of party members and appealed to them to assist in building that aspect of the party work. ? ?The interaction enabled him to gather feedback on the ground and pledged to assist in addressing the concerns they tabled.
