Miner At Anglogold Ashanti Died After A Fall

AngloGold Ashanti has in a statement said, the company had notified the Department of Mineral Resources of the incident and inspection had been concluded.

The statement said, Management of the mine had suspended development and secondary support operations at the mine until safe operating conditions had been confirmed.

“Management is working with the employee’s family to assist them through this difficult time,” it said.

The company also expressed its sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
