Bono Regional Minister Justina Owusu Banahene extended her support to Mr. Mubarik Abdullah Ciessey, a former NPP Sunyani West Parliamentary Aspirant who recently fell victim to an armed robbery attack on the eve of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.

The incident occurred at Kobedi along the Chiraa road in the Sunyani West municipality, leaving Ciessey with injuries to his arm and chest, while his companions emerged unharmed.

The assailants made off with cash, a laptop, and mobile phones, adding a troubling layer to the already tense political atmosphere surrounding the primaries.

During her visit to Mubarik Ciessey, Minister Banahene offered words of solace and encouragement, urging him to look beyond the unfortunate incident and focus on the possibilities that lie ahead.

Emphasizing Mubarik Ciessey’s youth and potential, she highlighted the myriad opportunities awaiting him in both politics and his professional endeavours.

Despite the setback, she implored him to throw his full support behind Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the delegate-elected candidate, and contribute to maintaining the NPP’s hold on the parliamentary seat.

Minister Banahene’s message to Ciessey was one of resilience and determination, urging him not to allow the incident to dampen his spirit or commitment to serving the party.

She reassured him that his dedication would eventually be recognized and rewarded by the party.

In response, Mubarik Ciessey, speaking on behalf of his family, expressed gratitude to Minister Banahene for her exemplary leadership not only within the NPP but also across the entire region.

He pledged his unwavering support to the party, emphasizing his determination to continue serving its interests despite the challenges he had encountered.

In the face of adversity, Minister Banahene’s visit and words of encouragement served as a beacon of hope for Ciessey and others affected by similar incidents.

Mubarik Ciessey noted that Minister’s demonstration of solidarity and support underscore the importance of standing together as a community, especially during challenging times.

Mubarik Ciessey said as he continues on his journey, he carries with him the resilience instilled by Minister Banahene’s visit, determined to overcome obstacles and contribute meaningfully to the NPP’s mission in the region.
