Ghanaian attacker Samuel Afum will spend two weeks in the treatment room after undergoing surgery
Ghana attacker Samuel Afum has undergone a minor surgery to correct a knee problem, Ghanasoccernet.com can confirm.
The 22-year-old was operated on Tuesday morning to get him ready before the start of the Swiss Super League season.
Afum was given days to rest to hail a minor injury he suffered against FC Basel in the last game of last season in the Swiss top-flight.
But after failing to regain full fitness, new Young Boys coach Uli Forte responded the former Hearts of Oak playmaker goes under the knife to get him fully fit to face FC Sion in their league opener on July 13.
He will be able to return to light training in 14 days time.
Afum scored five goals on his debut season with Young Boys after joining them in the second half of last season.
