The welcome sign of Miranda Lambert?s hometown of Lindale, Texas, had fallen victim to vandalism after a tourist got creative by drawing a large handlebar mustache on Miranda?s face.
And the country legend?s father, Richard Lee Lambert, exclusively tells?Life & Style?that the prank is not sitting well with him.
?My wife and I just shook our heads,? Richard, an ex-police officer shares with?Life & Style. ?[It?s sad] that somebody is stupid enough to go out and destroy city property like that,? he says. ?There are haters in the world that do things for their own stupid reasons. Lindale?s trying to be proud of a local girl, but somebody wants to destroy that. If it?s jealousy or if it?s drunkenness, whatever, it?s idiocy either way.?
But?Life & Style?has good news! The company that created the billboard has since repaired the sign, free of charge. ?We were able to reprint Miranda?s face and paste it over the damaged image,? Sign Masters owner Jana Cilliers tells the mag.
