Vice Admiral Quarshie, who is also the President of MOBA, was joined by the Captain of the team, Mike Aggrey, which also comprises Smiley Bannerman, Frank Tackie and John Coblavie to beat the AKORAS, led by Joe Ohemeng and includes Joe Ampofo, William Ofori and Mark Cofie.

The AKORAS however consoled themselves by winning the ‘Longest Drive’ and ‘Nearest to the Pin’ prizes through Michael Bortei Doku and Fiifi Kwakye respectively.

Mr Mike Aggrey, who is also the President of Ghana Golf Association, said the match was to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between the two associations.

He said the groups would soon introduce a triangular competition, which will involve MOBA, AKORAS and Adisadel College Old Students Association (Santaclaucians) and as time goes on, play a quadrangular, which will see St Augustine’s Past Students Union (APSU) participating.

He said the games would help to build bridges among the old students and also fraternise through golf.
My Aggrey said the Ghana Golf Association would soon introduce Inter-Club competitions, which would involve all the golf clubs, to whip up enthusiasm in the game.

Vice Admiral Quarshie asked the public to discard the notion that the game of golf is reserved for the rich.
Frank Akwasi Opoku, Captain of Celebrity Golf Club commended the associations for their efforts at promoting the game among old student unions and associations.
