Mozambique forms new agency to promote investment, export

The Mozambican Council of Minister has approved the creation of the Agency for Investment and Commerce to be responsible for promoting investments and exports.

The agency is the combination of three institutions: the Exports and Imports Institute (IPEX), the Investment Promotion Center (CPI) and the Bureau of Economic Zones for Accelerated Development (Gazeda).

“With this combination into one Agency, the Council of Ministers aims at creating much more alignment with the goals and targets of the government in development matters and exports promotion,” said government spokesperson Mouzinho Saide.

The Council of Ministers said the new agency will concentrate communication, facilitate interaction with investors and reduce their operation costs. Enditem
