Mozambique registered 10 more COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected with the novel coronavirus to 244 in the country, health authorities announced on Saturday.

All the new cases are of Mozambican nationality, according to the national director of public health, Rosa Marlene, who spoke at the daily press conference in Maputo.

“Of these (new cases), five are asymptomatic, the rest have mild to moderate symptoms”, said Marlene, adding that the samples tested were the result of active surveillance and routine screening in health facilities and tracing of contacts of the confirmed cases.

Marlene said all reported infected people are in isolation at home, and all their contacts were located.

Among the 244 positive cases recorded, besides the two deaths, 90 people have recovered from the disease. Enditem
