Mozambique has recorded the second death case of COVID-19, six new cases and another 11 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the country’s health authorities announced on Thursday.

The new death case was a Mozambican female who had breathing difficulties and died at a health unit in Pemba, Cabo Delgado, Director of Public Health Rosa Marlene said at a daily press conference in Maputo.

The deceased, about 45-50 years old, was one of the confirmed cases announced by authorities on Wednesday.

Among the six new cases, “one is asymptomatic and five have mild to moderate symptoms,” said Marlene.

She also said that the province of Niassa recorded its first case, thus all the ten provinces and the capital municipality in the country have positive cases.

From the total of 233 confirmed cases, 82 of them have fully recovered. Enditem
