Mozambique’s renowned fashion designer to groom Botswana talent

Organizers of the annual Wedding and Fashion Expo in Botswana, Lansmore Masa Square a subsidiary of Lonrho Hotels’ on Tuesday said 11 local designers will participate in a closed fashion and design workshop with Bacar.
According to Lansmore Masa Square Sales and Marketing Manager, Botho Mogami, the key areas of the workshop will address, how to grow a small local brand, and the challenges that a fashion brand and a designer faces in an emerging fashion industry.
“We have a wealth of local talent in the fashion industry, from models to designers. We want to help shine a greater spotlight on this talent, and further help grow those in the industry,” said Mogami.
She said the pre-expo workshop is dedicated to working together to hone and develop local skills.
Mogami further stated that the annual event is expected to be used to put the country on the fashion spotlight.
“We’re looking forward to casting the eyes of those in the international fashion and bridal industries on Botswana and her many proverbial gems,” Mogami said.
Bacar, a renowned name in African fashion, participated in the 2014 Fashion show and built a great rapport with some of our local designers.
The 2015 instalment of the annual bridal and fashion extravaganza will see an increased focus on showcasing and nurturing local talent. Enditem
