According to him, it is about time the ECG comes out clear for the public to know the actual amount they are being billed for on both post paid and prepaid meters.
Speaking on authority as a member of the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, Nana Ato Arthur said the management of the Electricity Company of Ghana will soon be scheduled to appear before the committee to appraise them on billings of the meters. He said ECG will be asked to clear the air about the faulty meters the company claims is the reason behind the high cost of power consumption in homes and industries.
In an exclusively interview with newsghana.com.gh in Parliament on Tuesday, the outspoken MP for the KEEA constituency said not only must the ECG be blamed for the suffering of the people but the Ministry of Power also, because the latter is the supervisory body of the former and they work hand in hand.
He described the action of the ECG as a fraud on Ghanaians.
