Mr Isaac Adjei Mensah, the Member of Parliament for the Wassa East said contributing to quality education was key to transforming the future of the young ones within the district.
“And this is why I have not relented my efforts at supporting particularly the education needs of the district and the Daboase Senior Technical School”, he added.
The Member of Parliament for the area was speaking at a short ceremony to present 100 bags of cement and 10 packets of roofing sheets to the school to support the accommodation needs of the school.
The school, with the introduction of the free Senior High policy has witnessed an upsurge in students’ population with its effect on accommodation and classroom facilities and so the donation had come at an opportune time to meet the infrastructure needs of the school.
He said all stakeholders particularly parents, must be supportive in their quest to achieve progressively free education adding, the government is doing its part and we must also contribute to quality education.
Mr Adjei Mensah said the performance of the school in the 2017 WASSCE results proved that when given the needed assistance, the school could become one of the star schools in the Region and the country as a whole.
Mr Anthony Insaidoo, Headmaster of the School who was full of gratitude for the timely assistance added, “This new policy presents to us lots of logistical challenges”.
He said the school lacked Master’s flats, dormitories, dining block among others as some of the challenges facing the school.
The Headmaster therefore called on other corporate companies to come to the aid of the school.
