MP urges contestants in Assembly Elections to be partners in development

Mr George K. Aboagye, the Member of Parliament for Asene Manso Akroso has urged losers and winners in the recent Assembly Elections to come together and work for the development of their areas.

He said: “In every competition, there was bound for a winner and a loser, but as humans after a contest we need to embrace ourselves and work together for the progress of society.”

Mr Aboagye gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after Mr Michael Acquah, the incumbent Assemblyman for Odumase Electoral Area was declared as the winner of the Assembly Election held on December 17, 2019.

Mr Acquah polled 64 votes as against 17 by his contestant; Madam Rita Owusu out of 81 votes cast. The eligible voters for the area are 333.

Mr Acquah called on Madam Owusu to join hands with him to advance the development of the electoral area.
