He described the five-year old inter-community soccer event by MTN and Suncity laudable and an opportunity for the youth to develop their talents.

Sadiq Adams, who is also the captain of the local Black Stars made this known to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at the end of the Sunyani edition of the 2016 MTN-Suncity Inter-Community Soccer Gala held at the Twene Amanfo Senior High School Park.

He said the event has enhanced intra-community socialisation among the youth in the area and urged the organisers to continue sponsoring the tournament.

He advised the youth in the communities to take advantage of the initiative of the organisers and improve themselves to make the competition meaningful.

The tournament, which was won by Adomako-Asufufu community saw the participation of Penkwase, Area 2, Area 3&4, Area 1, Zongo, Abesim, Fiapre, Baakoniaba, Newtown, Barracks and Odomase-Nkwabeng.

Wofa Yaw of Area 2 and Adomako-Asufufu’s Tony Jay, won the overall Best Player and Best Goal Keeper awards respectively.

This year’s event has been described as unique because it marked MTN’s twentieth anniversary, the fifth anniversary of the gala competition and the third anniversary of Suncity FM Radio Station.
