Medeama SC, exited the competition after they lost out 4-5 on penalties, to Liberty Professional at home last Sunday.
The Mauves and Yellows took an early lead in the game before the Dansoman based club, Liberty pulled one back to end the game in a stalemate, which eventually pushed the game into a penalty shootout.

League leaders, Accra Hearts of Oak replicated their fine form in the league to the competition, with Division one side Wassaman United.

Hearts of Oak played the game without their Japanese trainer Kenichi Yastuhashi, due to his ill-health, and in his absence assistant trainer Yaw Preko took charge.

The Phobians even though without many of their regular players dominated the entire duration of the game. Two goals from Kenneth Okoro- who has just returned from a long injury and another back from injury Kwame Kizito were enough to call the bluff of their opponents.

However Kumasi Asante Kotoko did not have it easy in Sunyani, when the Porcupines were stretched by Division two side A.K Shion to penalty shootouts, to decide the winner.

Kotoko won the match 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw within regulation time.
In Wa, Wa All Stars had a walk over due to Berekum Arsenals’ inability to honour the match.

Unconfirmed report suggest that Berekum Arsenal forfeited the match due to financial difficulties the club is going through.
