In a heartfelt demonstration of corporate social responsibility, MTN has provided over 60 baby hampers to mothers who gave birth on December 25th at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

This thoughtful gesture was aimed at easing the challenges faced by new mothers, especially during the festive season.

Mrs. Priscilla Agyie, a midwifery officer representing the hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology department, expressed her gratitude to the MTN Foundation for their generous contribution. She assured that the hampers would be of great benefit to both the mothers and their newborns, offering practical support during the crucial early stages of motherhood.

In a subsequent media briefing, Mrs. Agyie shared that the hospital had recorded 12 births on Christmas Day, comprising four girls and eight boys. She emphasized that the hampers would be particularly helpful in addressing some of the financial challenges mothers face in acquiring essential items for their babies.

On behalf of the MTN Foundation, Mrs. Regina Arkaifie, the Human Resource Manager for MTN South, presented the hampers. She highlighted that the initiative was a reflection of MTN’s commitment to the well-being of Ghanaians, underscoring the brand’s compassionate nature. Arkaifie expressed confidence that the distribution of these hampers would alleviate some of the burdens associated with caring for a newborn.

Additionally, she shared that the MTN Foundation had distributed over 600 hampers across all 16 regions of Ghana, with the Central Region receiving 60 hampers at selected hospitals. This initiative further exemplifies MTN’s ongoing efforts to support local communities, particularly families with newborns, and reinforces the caring aspect of its brand during the festive season.

The MTN Foundation’s baby hamper distribution initiative highlights the company’s long-standing commitment to community support, offering much-needed relief to new mothers during a time of joy and celebration.
