MTN Ghana partnered with Zoomlion Private Services Ltd to implement a waste management initiative during the Kwahu Easter festivities, targeting litter reduction and promoting environmental sustainability in Obomeng, Mpraeso, and surrounding communities.
The initiative included the distribution of labeled bins for segregating plastic, cans, glass, paper, and general waste. Placed in high-traffic areas, the bins aimed to educate residents and visitors on proper disposal practices. Zoomlion collected the sorted waste daily for recycling, ensuring alignment with the campaign’s eco-friendly objectives.
Adwoa Wiafe, MTN Ghana’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts. “Sustainability is central to our strategy,” she said. “Partnerships like this demonstrate how collective action can drive tangible community benefits.”
Following the festivities, MTN Ghana donated the bins to the Kwahu South Municipal Assembly to support long-term waste management efforts. The donation extends the initiative’s impact, aiding local authorities in maintaining clean public spaces beyond the Easter period.

Such collaborations reflect a growing emphasis on corporate-environmental partnerships in Ghana, where businesses increasingly align with public sector goals to address ecological challenges.
These initiatives not only tackle immediate waste issues but also foster community engagement in sustainability, mirroring national priorities for environmental preservation. By integrating scalable solutions into public events, companies like MTN Ghana and Zoomlion provide frameworks that complement municipal strategies, offering models for balancing tourism growth with ecological responsibility.
