MTN Ghana has declared an interim dividend of GH₵0.065 per share for the first half of 2024, amounting to approximately GH₵8.6 billion before taxes.
This payout is based on 13.24 billion ordinary shares.
The Board of Directors approved the dividend declaration on July 30, 2024, and signed by CEO Stephen Blewett and Chief Financial Officer Antoinette Kwofie.
The interim dividend for 2024 is GH0.050 per share, an increase from last year’s GH₵0.050 per share. The total number of ordinary shares in issue is 13,236,175,050.
The payment schedule is as follows:
Ex-dividend date: August 14, 2024
Qualifying date: August 16, 2024
Dividend payment date: September 6, 2024
Shareholders registered on August 16, 2024, will receive the dividend. Those buying shares before August 14, 2024, are eligible, while those purchasing on or after this date will not be.
The dividend will be paid electronically to eligible shareholders’ bank accounts or mobile money wallets.
MTN Ghana’s share price has risen from GH₵1.4 at the beginning of 2024 to GH₂.35, reflecting strong company performance. Analysts predict further price increases due to the company’s continued success.
