MTN Ghana has launched this year’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month under the theme “Living with Security,” reinforcing its commitment to creating a safe digital environment for all stakeholders.
CEO Stephen Blewett highlighted the importance of cybersecurity for the organization, stating, “In today’s interconnected world, cybersecurity is a shared responsibility.”
To enhance the digital landscape and equip employees with the necessary knowledge and tools, MTN Ghana is continually strengthening its cybersecurity initiatives. The company is collaborating with the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications to promote discussions on the latest trends, threats, and best practices in cybersecurity. This partnership aims to engage communities, including churches, mosques, and schools, on critical topics such as managing misinformation, digital parenting, and online safety.
Bernard Acquah, Chief Information Officer for MTN Ghana, emphasized that “Cybersecurity is a fundamental aspect of living in the digital age,” and reiterated the company’s dedication to empowering the community with knowledge for online safety. He encouraged participation in the month’s activities and stressed the need for proactive measures to tackle evolving online challenges.
Over the years, MTN Ghana has used Cybersecurity Awareness Month to educate the public, promote safe online behavior, discuss emerging threats, and foster cyber resilience.
