MTN Ghana has announced that it has reached the 80% completion mark in its extensive nationwide network upgrade, which began in June 2024 and is slated for completion by August 2024.
This significant project involves replacing existing mobile network infrastructure with newer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly equipment.
Thomas Motlepa, Chief Technical Officer of MTN Ghana, highlighted the company’s dedication to enhancing network reliability and performance. “Our customers remain at the core of our business. This upgrade will not only ensure a more reliable and robust network but also bring about significant improvements in network virtualization and increased capacity for optimal service delivery,” Motlepa stated, instilling a sense of optimism in the audience.
In a heartfelt message of appreciation to stakeholders and customers, Motlepa acknowledged the challenges encountered during the upgrade. “We are deeply thankful to our valued customers and stakeholders for their patience and support, particularly during the intermittent network disruptions experienced throughout this period,” he added, making the audience feel appreciated for their understanding.
