MTN Ghana has donated to the Ada Traditional Council in support of the annual Asafotufiami Festival.
The donation reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting local traditions and fostering community relationships.
The Regional Sales Manager, Francis Gyan, who led the MTN team to Ada Traditional Council, noted that the donation forms part of MTN Ghana’s efforts to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Ada people.
“MTN’s involvement in the Ada Asafotufiami Festival over the past 17 years aligns with our mission to brighten the lives of our customers.
“We are dedicated to supporting this festival and working closely with the Ada Traditional Council to celebrate and promote our shared heritage.
As part of MTN’s support, we are here to present a cheque of GH¢ 15,000.00, MTN Airtime worth GH¢ 1,000.00, and a drinks hamper.
More so, MTN will enhance the festival experience by setting up experience centers at strategic locations to engage with attendees,” Gyan stated.
These centers will provide opportunities for MTN to address customer concerns, offer education on mobile money fraud and the use of pre-registered SIM cards, and promote safe practices.
Gyan also took the opportunity to inform attendees about MTN Ghana’s ongoing network upgrade, which began in June 2024 and is set to conclude in August 2024.
This upgrade involves replacing existing infrastructure with more efficient, environmentally friendly equipment, aiming to improve network reliability, virtualization, and capacity for optimal service delivery.
“Today’s donation reflects our gratitude for your continued support and loyalty to MTN,” Gyan concluded. “We look forward to celebrating a memorable Asafotufiami Festival with you all and wish everyone a joyous festive season.”
Nene Agudey Obitchere III, Manklalo of Ada, received the donation and expressed gratitude to MTN for its steadfast support over the years. The Council also thanked the MTN team for keeping them updated on the network upgrade.
