MTN Ghana has embarked on a familiarisation tour to an ultra-modern multi-purpose library constructed for the Ebenezer Senior High School and the entire Dansoman community.

The Ebenezer SHS is the first secondary school in Ghana to have a modern, integrated, and multipurpose library that includes both an ICT component and a robotics lab following the commissioning of the project.

Two years after its completion, the integrated multi-purpose ICT library and robotics lab, which cost $770,000, has experienced a surge in usage.

During the familiarization tour, the Head of the Dansoman Multipurpose Facility, Rejoice Akosua, said that since the library’s inception, approximately 11,000 individuals have visited the library in 2021 alone.

This she said, they schemed to invite the Member of Parliament for the area to join the reading club to encourage the youth to use the facility.

According to her, although the Ghana Library Authority has been supporting them with books they still need more institutions to come to their aid.

She also encouraged students at Dansoman and its environs to take advantage of the multipurpose library to broaden their horizons.

She also commended MTN Ghana for putting up such an ultra-modern multi-purpose library for the community.

The Senior Manager for Sustainability and Social Impact at MTN Ghana Robert Kuzoe, who led the MTN officials, was extremely impressed with the maintenance culture.

As you can see this facility looks as if it was handed over today but this was handed over in 2020,” he stated.

According to him, the Foundation is scheming to build such facilities in other communities across the country.

Some of the students who spoke to this Journalist commended MTN Ghana for building such an ultra-modern multi-purpose library for them since it helped them to acquire more knowledge and skills.
