Morris Aniabri, a 49-year-old Togolese painter was last Monday morning found dead lying in a pool of blood at his rented apartment at Teshie, a suburb of Accra.
The deceased was lying in the porch of the apartment he rented on a one-storey building a ?Sea Lady? in Teshie. His hands were clutched around his torso on the floor with blood around his waist as his head was turned to his right side with signs of deep cut. Morris Aniabri appeared to have been dragged from his room to the porch with his knee bent by his killers. He was wearing only a pair of black boxer shorts with two yellow stripes on its sides.
There was a deep cut on the left side of his neck, suggesting that his attackers might have used a sharp object to inflict the wound. In an interview with a co-tenant, a young man in a taxi cab came looking for the deceased Sunday morning around 9 am.
Morris, called ?Efo? by many welcomed him and other visitors with him and then they went into his room. Morris returned after their conversation and introduced the young man as his nephew. The tenant further narrated that Morris later that evening welcomed the same visitors but this time with belongings of the boy which were in a bag. DAILY GUIDE sources hinted that the taxi driver went away after some time, leaving behind Morris and his nephew passing the night together.
Morris? co-tenants said they didn?t hear any sound that night suggesting something sinister had happened, however some others living near the house said they heard a couple of shouts but they were short-lived. Tenants of the house woke up this morning to find his remains in a pool of blood and his guest nowhere to be found. The Police have commenced investigations leading to the murder.
