Controversial Ghanaian songstress MzBel, born Nana Akua Amoah, has disclosed that she fasts two times in a week after she denounced Christianity some years ago.
Mzbel, on Celebrity Fanzone last week stirred controversy among Ghanaians when she insisted that Judaism is more sensible than Christianity.
Asked why she moved from Christianity to Judaism, Mzbel responded, “Because Judaism makes more sense to me so that is basically it. I have been Hari Krishna before, and then I moved to Christianity and now I am at Judaism, who knows where I will be tomorrow…”
Mzbel, last Friday on the ‘After Hours’ show on Tv3 told host Mikki Osei Berko that, though she fast two times in a week, it has nothing to do with her religious beliefs.
“I swim and play tennis and I fast twice a week. And it is for health reasons. It is not fun. I only drink water; I don’t eat during those times,” she disclosed.
The songstress recently revealed that she is not very proud of some of the things she did in the past, insisting that she is now a changed person despite widespread skepticism among Ghanaians.
“I am not so proud of some the things I did in the past. …It looks like how people get to know you from the beginning, is what sticks in their mind. It is very difficult to erase the memory of who you used to be. So it is difficult but I am trying to do my best.”
“When people hear the name Mzbel, they expect to see like some bad girl character; showing some skin, wrestlers, acting crazy, you know but with age things change and I expect people will grow with me like that. But, no, no, no, no they think that you are faking or so many things. They don’t wanna accept it but I think with time they will have to because I have grown and I have changed. I am a mother now and I am more matured now,” Mzbel stated.
She has recently released a single titled ‘Fathye.’
