Namibian Ministry of Information Communication (MICT) on Monday kicked off the PIDA (Programme for Infrastructural Development in Africa) week in Namibia’s coastal city of Swakopmund.

Under the theme “Regional Infrastructure Development for job creation and economic transformation,” the event was attended by over 100 delegates from Africa.

Speaking at the occasion, the African Union Commission’s director of infrastructure and energy Cheikh Bedda said the key to development is “to include rural areas in development especially in infrastructure.” Enditem
