Namibian ruling party submits Geingob as presidential candidate for elections

Namibian ruling party South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO) on Tuesday submitted President Hage Geingob as its presidential candidate to the Election Commission of Namibian (ECN).

The submission was done in accordance to the Namibian Electoral Law by SWAPO’s secretary-general Sophia Shaningwa, marking the beginning of preparations for the forthcoming elections for the country.

“I hereby confirm Hage Geingob is our presidential candidate for the SWAPO party and will be the only one representing our party,” Shaningwa said.

Namibia will hold its presidential elections on Nov. 27. Enditem
