Namibian youth join war against climate change

Over 600 students across Namibia, on Friday converged at a local school in the capital Windhoek for a Youth Climate Dialogue which aims to raise awareness and heighten urgency surrounding climate change among the Namibian youth.

The event which coincided with the Paris Agreement Signing Ceremony was hosted by United Nations Information Centre Windhoek in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme and Ministry of Environment and Tourism.

In a symbolic gesture to encourage the Namibian youth to play their part, the learners signed the Namibian Agreement and shared their ideas on how they would take climate action and become role models in their community.

During the event, representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, highlighted the Paris Agreement as well as Namibia’s role as a signatory and how the funding process works for developing countries. Enditem
