Namibia’s National Assembly will resume on May 26, following a postponement by the Speaker of the National Assembly Peter Katjavivi, an official said Friday.
David Nahogandja, senior public relations officer of the National Assembly, said members of parliament of the National Assembly were scheduled to return on May 19. However, this has now been postponed to May 26.
“The postponement is necessitated by a request by the Minister of Finance that the budget tabling is postponed to May 26,” he added.
Currently, Namibia is in stage two of a four-phase lockdown exit plan. In this stage, domestic travel between regions and within cities and towns will be allowed, and several businesses will be allowed to reopen and all individuals are required to wear masks in public places. Enditem
