Namibia’s suspected food poisoning incident death toll rises to 16

The death toll from a food poisoning incident in northeastern Namibia has risen to 16, local authorities said Thursday.

About 24 people living in the Kayova Village in the Kavango East Region ate a poisonous/toxic porridge on Saturday before they were sent to hospital, Woita Kapumburu, a local health official said.

An earlier report said nine people died in hospital. Enditem
