NANA ADDO CHOOSES RUNNING MATE …Sets to Shock Party with Bawumia tomorrow

Nana-Akufo-Addo-and-BawumiaReliable information gathered by The Moment has it that the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will tomorrow, Thursday, Thursday March 29, 2012 announced his running mate to at a meeting with the National Council of Elders of his party.

Checks conducted at the offices of the party have revealed that the party’s National Council is prepared to hold a meeting with Nana Addo at the University of Ghana, Legon on Thursday morning prior to listen to him concerning his running mate.
This, according to sources will be the final decision of who partners Nana Addo for the December Presidential and Parliamentary election.

The issue of Nana Akufo-Addo’s running mate has generated heated debate both in the media and the public domain with names of some personalities popping up as possible bets to partner him.

However, Nana Akufo-Addo and the party have on several occasions failed to reach a consensus to that effect, with majority of people alluding that to breakdown in trust, and the unavailability of a better match to Mills’ vice, John Mahama.
The delay in choosing his vice was also believed to be characterized by the fact that he wanted to pick Alhaji Bawumia again, a decision many people believed did not go down well with some party big wigs.

However, snippets of information trooping into the offices of The Moment are pointing to a possible shocking experience for the party guns in tomorrow’s meeting when Nana Akudo-Addo, would be repeating his 2008 running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for 2012.
Sources close to Nana Akufo-Addo have hinted that, among the names that cropped up at the beginning of this year, such as Alhaji MND Jawula, Deputy Minority Leader Ambrose Deri and former Salaga MP Boniface Saddique Abubakar, Alhaji Haruna, the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana tops the shortlisted list of the all the candidates.

It is however going to be interesting how some party lords would be receiving the news at the meeting. However, a close confidant to Akufo-Addo disclosed that Nana Addo’s choice this time will be the final one and hence any opposition would not be welcome, considering the March ending deadline given to the flagbearer by the party to provide a running mate.
