Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah has been declared the winner of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) presidential primary, securing her position as the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
In the primary vote, 1,360 ballots were cast, with Kumankumah receiving 763 votes. Her rival, Yaw Anokye Frimpong, garnered 586 votes. Eleven ballots were rejected.
Addressing party members after her victory, Kumankumah underscored the critical need for unity within the CPP. She urged all members to unite and strengthen their collective effort in preparation for the forthcoming elections.
The primary, overseen by the Electoral Commission, was nationwide across regional capitals.
