CPC Chieftain, Alh. Baba Sambo.

By Rabiu Doma, Nasarawa
Fresh fact has emerged that the two rival political parties are ready for a showdown. The latest development emanated from the utterances of the state chairman of the opposition political party.

The chairman, Yunana Iliya briefed Journalist that the ruling Congress for Progressive Change [CPC] under Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has become a regime of lairs, mal-administration and of wanton killings.

A chieftain of the ruling CPC, Baba Sambo ascribed the utterances of Yunana Iliya as a campaign of calumny, saying the campaign is baseless and lacks substance. ?The people are their own judge; the PDP ruled for three (3) consecutives terms but has nothing to show to the governed. The core value of democracy was hitherto denied the populace?.

?While we gallop the horse down the memory lane commoners can attest that Government exist in Nasarawa state but not like the wasted twelve (12) years of the PDP. Governor Al-Makura has fulfilled his electioneering covenant with the people by setting up a precedent for others to follow?.

According to Sambo, the governor succeeded in constructing fitting infrastructure in Lafia, the state capital which had remained a glorified Local Government lacking access roads, water instead of the tales of dilapidated schools, total blackout, absence of potable drinking water.

He went on to add that the Governor succeeded in constructing massive Junior secondary and primary schools, procured transformers to address blackouts. He further said the Governor also succeeded in repositioning the civil service which was at the threshold of collapsing. To put the record straight, said Baba Sambo the PDP should tell us what they have achieved.

The state chairman of PDP added however that all the projects were initiated by the two (2) successive regimes of PDP, government is a continuous process.

?Iliya said all the township roads and health projects were MDG projects. Did MDG not exist during the past administration? Why is that no meaningful project was executed and completed?? ? stated Sambo.
