Nasarawa Will Survive

Nasarawa United striker, Ugochukwu Leonard is confident that the Solid Miners will avoid the fall at the end of this Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Leonard said that he finds Nasarawa United’s slide disappointing.
Nasarawa United now find themselves bottom of the 20-team standings in the NPFL also referred to as the Glo Premier League.
But the former Plateau United forward believes the Solid Miners have been unfortunate in recent games including Wednesday’s 1-2 loss at Kaduna United.
However, Leonard believes the Solid Miners will soldier on to keep their top flight status.
“At the earlier part of the season we had a very good run until recently. I think we have hit a bad patch and every team go through this at some point in a season. But I’m very sure we will bounce back and survive relegation.
“Also I will say we have been unlucky in our recent matches because we have played very well. May be we need to do more. In our game against Kaduna United, we were just seconds away from taking a point and they scored a late goal, which to me didn’t look good but we just have to forget that and fight on,” Leonard said.
The striker, who sat out all through the contest at Kaduna United, is now focused on their next matchday opponents, Kwara United.
“We have played ourselves into this, now we have to play ourselves out of it. It’s not going to be easy against Kaduna United but we know we have to start winning now to escape relegation,” Leonard said.
Leonard has scored four league goals for Nasarawa United this season.
