The Nanumba North Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has undertaken awareness campaign towards response against the spread of COVID-19 in the municipality.

The campaign was to deepen public awareness on COVID-19, tackle the growing challenge of stigmatisation and encourage the citizenry to comply strictly with the safety protocols instituted by government such as the mandatory wearing of face masks, hygiene and physical distancing among others.

President Nana Akufo-Addo in fulfillment of his pledge made during his ninth address to the nation to empower the NCCE as a front line civic educator, provided the NCCE with some personal protective equipment among others to facilitate its process of public education across the country.

Mr Issahaku Mahamudu, Nanumba North Municipal Director of NCCE, led the Directorate, to visit both formal and informal sector stakeholders in the municipality including the GCB bank, Baobab Microfinance, the Ghana Police Service, National Health Insurance Authority, MTN Offices, the Bimbilla market, GPRTU stations, faith-based organisations among others.

He advised citizens to keep up with healthy lifestyles by complying with the safety protocols and show compassion to people infected by the disease and avoid stigmatising them.
