“This government has presided over corruption,” Agyeman-Rawlings asserted, emphasizing that combating corruption and upholding democratic principles are paramount for the NDC.
“We promise John Mahama that we will set the bar high with zero tolerance for corruption. The people of Ghana expect the NDC to uphold the highest standards,” she declared, urging vigilance in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
Meanwhile, National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi forecasted a change of government in the 2024 general election, citing dissatisfaction with what he labelled as the incompetent Akufo-Addo government.
“Change is coming. Are you ready for change?” Gyamfi proclaimed during the campaign launch.
Campaign Director Professor Joshua Alabi echoed optimism about the NDC’s prospects, highlighting widespread support and awareness among the electorate.
Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a member of the NDC manifesto committee, outlined ambitions to secure 14 out of 18 seats in the Northern Region, underscoring the region’s pivotal role in the party’s strategy.
In criticizing the economic management of the Akufo-Addo government, Ankrah asserted, “Every single sector of the economy is in a mess. The people have seen through the abysmal performance.”
The NDC’s campaign launch at Tamale’s Jubilee Park was marked by genuine pledges and critiques aimed at mobilizing support ahead of the upcoming elections.
