Professor Joshua Alabi, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign team, has proclaimed that Ghana is heading in the wrong direction under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo.
During the NDC’s 2024 campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday, July 27th, Alabi urged Ghanaians to rally behind the NDC in large numbers during the upcoming December 7th elections.
“Ghana is moving in the wrong direction. The NPP will lose and hand over, and we assure everyone that we will protect your votes, so go out and vote,” Alabi emphasized.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings cautioned NDC agents against accepting bribes that would undermine their ability to monitor the elections effectively. She stressed the critical importance of winning the election to safeguard Ghana’s democracy, citing what she described as widespread corruption under the current administration.
“Corruption has been presided over by this government,” Agyeman-Rawlings declared, pledging the NDC’s commitment to high standards and zero tolerance for corruption under John Mahama’s potential presidency.
Echoing the sentiment of change, NDC National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi predicted a shift in government due to the Akufo-Addo government’s incompetence.
“Change is coming. Are you ready for change?” Gyamfi asked the gathered crowd during the campaign launch, expressing confidence in an impending NDC victory.
The NDC campaign launch in Tamale underscored themes of governance critique, electoral integrity, and the party’s commitment to restoring what they perceive as a deteriorating national direction under the current administration.
