During the launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, Professor Joshua Alabi, chairman of the NDC campaign team, confidently stated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) would lose the upcoming December 7 elections and hand over power to the NDC.
Alabi expressed concern that Ghana is moving in the wrong direction under the leadership of the Akufo-Addo administration. He emphasized the NDC’s commitment to protecting every ballot cast during the elections, ensuring fair and transparent voting processes.
“Ghana is moving in the wrong direction. [The NPP] will lose and hand over, and we assure everybody that we will protect your votes, so go and vote,” Alabi asserted during the campaign launch.
Additionally, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, echoed Alabi’s sentiments by cautioning all NDC agents against accepting any form of bribery or interference that could compromise the integrity of the electoral process. She emphasized the importance of securing a victory in the elections to safeguard Ghana’s democracy from what she described as the failures and corruption of the current administration.
“Today, we promise John Mahama that we will set the bar high with zero tolerance for corruption. The people of Ghana hold the NDC to the highest standards,” Agyeman-Rawlings declared.
Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s National Communications Officer, reinforced these messages by predicting a shift in government as Ghanaians prepare to vote against what he described as the “incompetent Akufo-Addo government.”
“Change is coming. Are you ready for change?” Gyamfi proclaimed, expressing confidence in the NDC’s prospects for victory.
The launch highlighted the NDC’s unified stance on accountability and transparency and its determination to win the upcoming elections. Under its leadership, the NDC promised a different direction for Ghana.
